Art Competition

Each Spring, Congress participates in the Congressional Art Competition, which invites all students grades 9-12 to participate. For 40 years, the nationwide high school arts competition has been sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives with participation by hundreds of thousands of highly talented high school students from all over the United States.

We would like to encourage and recognize artistic talent in Texas' Fourth Congressional District and will select one winning piece to be proudly displayed in the United States Capitol for a year, with 4 runner up pieces to be placed in our offices.

How to apply: Students should email TX04Art@mail.house.gov to receive the application and to submit a photo of their artwork.
Deadline: April 21st at 5pm CT.
Theme: Celebrating America's 250th Birthday (all pieces submitted should reflect this theme).
